Six Days Berlin 2026: fifth place and a madison win for EliteCore UCI Track Team

On 30 and 31 January 2026 we had the opportunity to take part in Six Days Berlin, held at the legendary Velodrom. Our team, EliteCore UCI Track Team, with Daniel Staniszewski and Wojciech Pszczolarski, competed against international teams in the Six Days format. We finished the event in 5th place overall, and one of the highlights of our performance was victory in the madison.

Berlin was another serious test for us

Six Days Berlin is a competition with a unique character - intense and held over two days. Although the programme is not always the same, it is based on classic track events whose points add up to the overall classification. The main races are the madison, the points race, the scratch, the team elimination, the derny and usually the 500 m flying start. Every race matters enormously, because even small points differences can affect the final result. From the very start we knew that consistently scoring points and avoiding losses in each race would be key.

How we approached the racing in Berlin

We prepared for the event with a clearly defined plan: first build a solid position in the overall classification, minimising losses to the leaders, and then focus on holding it. We managed to carry out this strategy, which allowed us to control our place in the standings throughout the event and finish with a very good record. Racing in Berlin was demanding, both in terms of pace and tactics. Each day meant several races with short breaks between them, which required good organisation and effort management.

Madison - the race that shaped our classification

The madison turned out to be our highest-scoring event. From the very start we were in control of the situation on the track and systematically collected points in each sprint. We managed to gain several laps, which is typical of this event. This style of riding allowed us to win the race, which had a direct impact on our position in the overall classification. Winning the madison was the key moment of the whole event, because in the Six Days format such races often decide the final result.

Fifth place overall after two days of racing

After all the events had been completed, we finished Six Days Berlin 2026 in 5th place overall. This result was the outcome of consistent point-scoring and the madison win. The final classification reflected the course of the event and the sum of the effort we put in over two intense days on the track.

What does this race mean for our season?

Berlin was an important point in our 2026 track season. Taking part in the Six Days format allowed us not only to assess our form but also to gain valuable experience in racing where both physical fitness and the ability to make the right decisions on the track matter. We see the result in Berlin as a solid benchmark ahead of our upcoming races.
