Berlin

On January 30 and 31, 2026, we had the opportunity to participate in Six Days Berlin, held at the legendary Velodrome. Our team, EliteCore UCI Track Team, consisting of Daniel Staniszewski and Wojciech Pszczolarski, competed against international teams in the Six Days format. We managed to finish 5th overall, and one of the highlights of our performance was winning the Madison Race.

Berlin was another serious test for us

Six Days Berlin is a unique competition – intense and held over two days. While the program isn't always the same, it's based on classic track events, with points added up to the overall standings. The main races include the Madison, the points race, the scratch race, the team elimination, the derby, and usually the 500 meters with a flying start. Each race is crucial, as even small differences in points can impact the final result. From the very beginning, we knew that consistent points accumulation and avoiding losses in subsequent races would be crucial.

How We Approached the Competition in Berlin

We prepared for the competition with a clearly defined plan: first, build a solid position in the general classification, minimizing the gap to the leaders, and then focus on maintaining it. We successfully executed this strategy, allowing us to control our position in the standings throughout the competition and finish with a very good record. Racing in Berlin was demanding, both in terms of pace and tactics. Each day involved several starts, with short breaks between them, requiring good organization and effort management.

Madison – the race that set our standings

The Madison race proved to be our best-scoring event. From the very beginning, we had control of the track and steadily collected points in subsequent sprints. We managed to make up several laps, which is typical for this event. This driving style allowed us to win the race, which had a direct impact on our overall standings. Winning Madison was a key moment in the entire competition, as such starts often determine the final result in the Six Days format.

Fifth place overall after two days of racing

After completing all the events of Six Days Berlin 2026, we finished in 5th place overall. This result was the result of consistently scoring points and winning the Madison. The final standings accurately reflected the course of the competition and the cumulative effort we put in over two intense days on the track.

What does this start mean for our season?

Berlin was an important milestone for us in the 2026 track season. Participating in the Six Days allowed us not only to assess our form but also to gain valuable experience in competition, where both physical fitness and the ability to make good decisions on the track are crucial. We consider the result in Berlin a solid benchmark for our upcoming starts.
